Hope and Help for Loved Ones of people who make bad choices
Group Overview
Intro
Addiction is not a spectator sport. Eventually, the whole family gets involved.
Despite there being millions of drug addicts in our country, almost nobody envisions their own family being torn apart by it. You may be feeling frustrated, angry, scared, and resentful because you’ve discovered that your child or spouse is using drugs. Most people feel helpless and do not know what to do.
The good news is that you are not alone and there are things that you can do to positively influence your loved one's choices.
This group teaches to take care of yourself first, so that you can help from a position of strength. Then, using the CRAFT method, develop the plan and skills that will help you "let go" without giving up and increase your chances of seeing positive change.

Proven Alternatives to Nagging, Pleading, and Threatening
Our group uses leading recovery science and a warm, scriptural approach to guide you through the difficulties of handling your relationship with an addict.
In a nutshell, the harsh, confrontational methods of intervention and a "my way or the highway" approach are less effective. That is why we have adopted the CRAFT (Community Reinforcement and Family Training) method and combined it with teachings from the most respected coaches in the field (like Cathy Taughinbaugh, Beverly Buncher, and Dr. Robert Meyers).
CRAFT is a skills-based program that impacts families in multiple areas of their lives, including self-care, pleasurable activities, problem solving, and goal setting. At the same time, CRAFT addresses their loved one’s resistance to change.
CRAFT teaches families behavioral and motivational strategies for interacting with their loved one. Participants learn, for example, the power of positive reinforcement for positive behavior (and of withdrawing it for unwanted behavior), and how to use positive communication skills to improve interactions and maximize their influence.
