address, receive support, and find healing from dysfunctional upbringings
Group Overview
Intro
Any type of abuse and neglect suffered in childhood results in long-lasting implications well into adulthood. This group is for anyone who wants to address, receive support, and find healing from their dysfunctional upbringings.
The hope of this class is to provide relief from the confusion and emotional suffering that abusive and neglectful parents create in their children. If you can understand your emotional loneliness or create a deeper emotional connection and more rewarding intimacy, we will have reached our goal. If you can see yourself as a worthy person who is not longer at the mercy of their people's manipulations, we will have accomplished our mission.
Taking a hard look at your parents objectively might feel like betrayal, but that isn't the motive here. The mission is not to disrespect or betray your parents, but to finally see them in an objective light. The discussions will be informed by a deep understanding of the reasons for their limitations and to see that much of their behavior is unintentional. In so doing, you can radically increase your own self awareness and emotional freedom.
No matter how old we get, we cannot heal the wounds inflicted in childhood until we choose to do so. This group is a place to learn, talk, support, and heal from the past. Do you or someone you know have lingering effects from a toxic parent? Do you or someone you know feel frustrated, invalidated, and lost when dealing with a toxic parent? Do you or someone you know want to understand more about long-term effects of abuse and neglect? Please click the link and sign up.
